Why not populate your SMT boards the quick easy way?

Save big money and time on prototypes and short runs by using our new low cost stencils and simple techniques that anyone can easily learn!

Our new polymeric stencils are better and far less expensive than steel stencils. For prototypes and short runs, you can't go wrong with these precision, easy to use stencils.

It's as easy as:

    1. Line up your stencil

    Use our Hold-Tight frame (recommended) to hold down your board. Alternately, tape your board down by surrounding it with boards of the same thickness. Align your stencil over the board and tape down one edge. We prefer taping the far side.

    2. Squeegee your solder paste

    Use a putty knife or credit card to squeegee on the solder paste. Press firmly to insure an even layer. Then lift back the stencil in one motion. When doing several boards, we recommend that you do them all before moving to the next step.

    3. Place your parts

    Using a tweezer, place each part. You may find it helpful to press each part down gently. This picture shows a board that contains many very small parts. Some of these include leadless as well as MSOP-8 and SC-70 packages.

    4. Heat until the solder flows

    Using a simple electric griddle or other flat surface heater, raise the board temperature until the solder flows. An inexpensive infrared thermometer helps to judge the correct temperature. When the solder flows, slide the board off with a spatula or a wide putty knife. You can heat several boards at the same time.
